At our Singapore office, we signed a lease on a great starting locations for our local team. Unfortunately, it had a very odd nook right at the entrance. It was too small to fit a reception. Previous tenants had used it as a waiting area but it was very confining and felt like putting a visitor into a penalty box. It didn't help that the building was built as a defensible military building with small strange windows.
What the office lacked was a kitchen. To address both issues, we designed this little refueling station in the nook. Material selection was somewhat limited due to the size of the country and labor available but we got very close to the actual mock-up and ended up with a very nice warm entrance for visitors and good flow from greeting to coffee (or tea) to sitting down in the nearby conference room.
